Enlightenment through Plato’s Forms

First one must see what Plato and his teacher Socrates was all about:

Looking for an, “….easy source of true, ie, eternal, unchanging knowledge.”

Not, hey, tell me what you think. Opinions and personalities and full of biases that just muddies the eternal Truth. You know by now that it is the mind creating these opinions and adding them to the eternal Truths. So how does Plato and Socrates get around this?

Hence using one’s mind it might seem nuts that you are going to come to the eternal Truths:

“The world is constantly undergoing change. The seasons reflect change. Nothing is ever permanent: buildings crumble, people, animals and trees live, and then die. Even the present is deceiving: our senses of sight, touch and taste can let us down from time to time. What looks to be water on the desert horizon is in fact a mirage. Or what I think of as sweet at one time may seem sour the next. Heraclitus, a pre-Socratic philosopher, claimed that we can never step into the same river twice.”

“In his Socratic dialogues Plato argues through Socrates that because the material world is changeable it is also unreliable.”

BUT

“Behind this unreliable world of appearances is a world of permanence and reliability. Plato calls this more real (because permanent) world, the world of ‘Forms’ or ‘Ideas’ (eidos/idea in Greek). But what is a Platonic Form or Idea?”

So this is what Plato is trying to show us as to what we are up against:

What Plato is trying to say is that if we understood what the baseline infrastructures in the universe are and our relationship to the eternal Truths THEN WE WILL UNDERSTAND OUR PLACE IN THE UNIVERSE.

What we are doing is seeing through our own distorted realities and with our opinions and biases in mind and personality and we will never figure this out via thinking. We need to come to it via understanding the baseline processes and then try to figure out how we fit into it.

It is not impossible but possible because even our own mind has a way out to access the eternal Truths. You just have to prep it to work for you:

Enlightenment is the body-mind accessing the “intelligence” of the Universe and a slower eternal process or pace of filtering into the eternal Truths. You need to plug in and progress. If the chaotic mind cannot even find a way to plug in into the “intelligence” then you exist in the above baseline reality of your own mind of eternal suffering. I think that was what even Buddha was trying to tell us.

For everything, we perceive there is an independently perfect form because we are looking through sullied perception:

“The Forms are not limited to geometry. According to Plato, for any conceivable thing or property there is a corresponding Form, a perfect example of that thing or property.”

For all of these, there would be independent perfect realities:

“The list is almost inexhaustible. Tree, House, Mountain, Man, Woman, Ship, Cloud, Horse, Dog, Table and Chair, would all be examples of putatively independently-existing abstract perfect Ideas.”

So is for our body and mind:

In the ether, there is a double of us in spirit that guides us I think which is the abstract form of us. The pure self, without the personality that can guide us if we can find a way to access the spirit form. This is where accessing the “intelligence” of the universe comes in. That “feedback feedforward” process of the mind or that “sense of knowing” with an “intention” in mind when the mind is silent with the slow trickle into the enlightenment as the body-mind opens up into the True Reality of the universe.

“Plato says that true and reliable knowledge rests only with those who can comprehend the true reality behind the world of everyday experience. In order to perceive the world of the Forms, individuals must undergo a difficult education.”

The difficulty depends on how difficult you want to make it.

“We must be taught to recall this knowledge of the Forms, since it is already present in a person’s mind, due to their soul apparently having been in the world of the Forms before they were born.”

You were once the eternal forms and hence there is no need to learn it, but a reminder or a nudge is of no harm, to then recall the way you once were when not in body.

“The majority of people cannot be educated about the nature of the Forms because the Forms cannot be discovered through education, only recalled.”

“Only the people who have the ability to step out into the sunlight and see (recall) the true reality (the Forms) should rule. Clearly Plato was not a fan of Greek democracy. No doubt his aristocratic background and the whims of Athenian politics contributed to his view, especially as the people voted to execute his mentor Socrates.”

“Plato leaves no doubt that only special people are fit to rule. Who are the special people who can recognise the Forms? For Plato the answer is straightforward: the ideal ruler is a philosopher-king, because only philosophers have the ability to discern the Forms. Plato goes on to say that it is only when such a person comes to power that the citizens of the state will have the opportunity to step out of the cave and see the light.”

Even for most of us if we did not know of Plato’s eternal forms but we trusted our perception of the eternal Truth/forms from which we evolved into body-mind, and when the mind is silent and with that “sense of knowing” as feedback with an “intention” in mind, then we are already there plug into the universe and in communication with our spirit double in the universe. So you are never alone when you think you are alone as many leave this world thinking them to be alone when they are not. Only our thinking minds prevent us from seeing this.

The excitement in having the mind go silent in meditation and to communicate with another that is you in spirit – are you not curious to give it a try. Simply sit comfortably, focus on your vocal cords as a mantra to stop the flutter of your vocal cords and hence stop verbal thinking, and then filter in gently into the universe and explore the rest of your mind.

Our place in the Universe

Not just don’t have patterns in nature but also not have patterns that are in coherence with each other. We in the universe need to have a natural AI control over the whole universe. If not there will be chaos.

Look at what happens if we do not have control over our own atmosphere, climate change.

Look at what happens if we do not have control and coherence over our own minds – mental health issues and problems within society itself.

Body-Mind, Earths atmosphere, Universe as a whole – notice they are all one isolated system within another system that needs systems control over themselves. All these collected systems together make up the universe as a WHOLE 1-Thing.

They all exist as I-Thing and are organised one within the other and work together in coherence, if not we and everything else in it will be in uncontrolled chaos.

So if we look at the smallest particle in the universe to the universe as a whole scientists are saying that the energy profiles are organised one within the other:

With the process of the creation of the universe, mass is only about 5% – this is is what we can see. The rest are energy fields holding everything else together.

So there must be a baseline energy field from which everything else arises, that permeates everything – I think we call this consciousness. So what is this field in the universe?

This is how mass was created in the universe: entropy within the system as you scale up from the smallest particle to the universe as a whole, increases in entropy and mass is created, which distorts spacetime and we see gravitational effects. Also, the electromagnetic spectrum is generated as part of the scaling-up process and increase in entropy. Notice how in our innovations in society we have taken from this electromagnetic spectrum generated by a natural process and amplified it and incorporated it into society.

Look at our own galaxy, the milky way, totally intact with its own energy profile and yet connected to everything else: notice “you are here”. This is a double torus energy profile of the milky way, spinning and twisting and torquing up from its centre, energy profile and at the singularity at the centre creates mass and the electromagnetic spectrum, which we then use its amplified version to create the synthetic cityscape with its own energy profile. Notice how this synthetic energy profile of the cityscape in conflict with the natural environment is what is causing all these disruptions in the natural environment and changing the climate on the planet’s own environment – pollution, flooding and ozone layer depletion etc.

Then just look at how our brain and thinking mind is organised. They have different operating frequencies in the brain with different layers of consciousness and sense of “being”. There is a local body-mind energy pattern of its own. How do you best organise this energy pattern so it works at its full potential and is in control of its energy pattern to prevent “climate change” mental health issues in the mind?

Find one’s place in the mind where it connects up to the universe is essential in one knowing its place in the universe and also in using the mind at its full potential:

Is there any way to tell your brain what to think and not to think?

There are 2 types of thinking in your mind and one of them is easy to control because it has a physical anomaly that you can easily control:

The best way to use your mind is to stay centred in the silent mind and keep verbal thinking in the periphery and use it only when you need to. Verbal thinking is a self-talk thinking process. It is a deliberate thinking process that you can easily control. Verbal thinking is when you have to silently verbalise your thoughts for you to think at all. You silently verbalise because the brain needs to hear you, like in a conversation with another, so the brain can process your thoughts. You can end this type of thinking by keeping the slight flutter of your vocal cords still and hence bring on the silent mind.

You can easily learn to have control over your thinking mind by staying centred in the silent mind and only use verbal thinking when you have to spin an idea or be creative.

The silent mind, mainly observational, communicates with the space around it in a totally different way to verbal thinking:

Connected to the universe:

Road map of the thinking mind:

Is there any way to tell your brain what to think and not to think? Opinions and biases and conditioning in the mind are created by spinning experiences via verbal thinking. If you do not like what you are thinking just stop verbalising your thoughts. You can stop a verbal thought anytime you want to by just stopping the flutter of your vocal cords in verbal thinking.

Visual thinking or image-making in the silent mind is more difficult to stop, especially when they rise from your subconscious mind when the mind is silent. Some of these memories rising can be unwanted and problematic. Make peace with them and watch them appear and disappear and soon in time, they will subside. But there is no physical anomaly in visual thinking like there is in verbal thinking to stop image-making in the mind when the mind is silent.

Looking for “God” in Mind

If you are looking for God, you need to buckle up and get ready for a journey to the higher faculties of your mind. Where the mind is still and thinking is not or to a minimum in mind and then you sense God, the mighty “intelligence” of the Universe which you can access within your mind:

and get connected:

The best way to use your mind is to stay centred in the silent mind and keep verbal thinking in the periphery and use it only when you need to. Verbal thinking is a self-talk thinking process. It is a deliberate thinking process that you can easily control. Verbal thinking is when you have to silently verbalise your thoughts for you to think at all. You silently verbalise because the brain needs to hear you, like in a conversation with another, so the brain can process your thoughts. You can end this type of thinking by keeping the slight flutter of your vocal cords still and hence bring on the silent mind. In time visual and spatial thinking will disappear and you are now, via body and mind, the universe itself, and in the presence of God. You can communicate with God with just a “sense of knowing” as feedback and an intention in mind for communication with the “intelligence” of the Universe, or God, the Universal Mind.

When you are here in mind, God is always in your presence. You ostracise God with verbal thinking by being preoccupied and preventing access to the Universal Mind. The whole process of accessing your higher faculties is a very simple process in mind.

How are Thoughts stored in the Brain.

You know what, this is an interesting question. But it will need some speculation within reason.

Just let me first show what the mind is like and thinking. then we will see how thoughts are created. There is no need for a heavy discussion so let’s keep it simple for this question.

1 step at a time:

The mind is of the brain but working off it.

It is a body-mind thing.

All the words you see above is created by the mind but the body has an integration process that allows you to know what you are thinking. Some of these thoughts come and go but you have storage capacity with memory – so where is memory stored.

We know from science that went an electrical signal with information in it passes down a nerve cell it also produces electromagnetic waves with the same information encoded in the waves.

“….the brain generates its own em field, a fact that is well known and utilised in brain scanning techniques such as EEG. The second is that the brain’s em field is indeed the seat of consciousness. This is far harder to prove but there is plenty of evidence that is at least consistent with this hypothesis. Em fields are waves that tend to cancel out when the peaks and troughs from many unsynchronised waves combine. But if neurones fire together, then the peaks and troughs of their em fields will reinforce each other to generate a large disturbance to the overall em field.”

The nerve cells producing electromagnetic waves is a fact and what has happened here is we have come out of the brain tissue to the computation of information in the ether. How far out of the skull or still within the skull I am not sure but it is OFF the brain.

“Many, particularly in the artificial intelligence field, take the view that consciousness is just an inevitable product of complex computation, as the evolutionary biologist T. H. Huxley put it, like the steam whistle, which accompanies the work of a locomotive [but] without influence upon its machinery.

In the steam whistle view, consciousness just pops out of the complex interconnected computations performed by the network of neurons within our brain.”

EM Field Theories of Consciousness | Johnjoe Mcfadden

So this is thinking:

or this: “like the steam whistle, which accompanies the work of a locomotive [but] without influence upon its machinery.”

So to answer your question: thoughts are not stored in your brain but outside it:

“Em fields are waves that tend to cancel out when the peaks and troughs from many unsynchronised waves combine. But if neurones fire together, then the peaks and troughs of their em fields will reinforce each other to generate a large disturbance to the overall em field.”

Thinking is just pattern making OFF the brain and in the ether perhaps.

Remember that this is what the Universe is about – one big energy pattern and the thinking pattern couples up to the universe to work with the “intelligence” of the Universe – if you allow it to couple with the pattern in the universe. I saw if you allow it is because you have to get over being preoccupied with your verbal thinking mind to get connected to and work with the “intelligence” of the universal pattern.

What I think is that the brain knows how to decode patterns. That is how we are conscious and that is how we integrate information to think and have feelings and emotions. It is all then a body-mind thing but all via pattern integration and that is how we have come into “being” what we are and how we are really part of the big pattern of the Universal Mind.

Once you cross the line where all thinking in the mind stops then you will sense this connection with the “intelligence” of the universe with a silent “sense of knowing” as feedback from the Universe and an intention in mind as a question asked of it. This silent “sense of knowing” is coming from the universe after you have stopped all thinking in your own mind. That is what meditation is meant to show you. It allows you to stop all thinking in your own mind and hence feel the presence of the universe via your brain. The EM pattern in the universe replace your own EM pattern of your thinking mind when you stop all thinking in your own mind. I hope you can see this. Imagine it, feeling the mighty presence of the Universal Mind in your OWN mind anytime you allow yourself to get into this mind space, via meditation or just bringing on stillness in your mind with no verbal thinking to distract you while you go about your daily activities – a walking talking meditator with stillness in mind.

Communicating with the pattern in the universe via the Planck Field.

Body-Mind Connection

Can I show you something which is somatic which is also directly connected to how the mind works? I am not making this up but just passing on a fact by a scientist and his team who have decoded genetics and seen this correlation.

somatic – “relating to the body, especially as distinct from the mind.”

“How our genes shape our body’s, our minds and our personalities”.

This information is coming from Kari Stefansson of deCode genetics:

This information is from an interview he gave to the BBC in the United Kingdom. This is the summary of what he said:

You can click on the image to enlarge and read.

“How we are genetically hardwired to solve problems has an impact on the composition of the body.” Kari Stefansson.

“ I can show you how we can use genetics to explore the nature of MIND”

The fact is if you are obese then you are susceptible to all kinds of diseases: cardiovascular and liver diseases, osteoarthritis and diabetes etc

But if your DNA has a tendency towards obesity then what does it affect in the body-mind. If you are obese or not, it does not matter but if your DNA has a tendency towards obesity then it affects your mind in certain ways.

What he said is that if your DNA is wired to have a tendency towards obesity then you are more likely to be a visual and spatial thinker. You will also be less curious, less creative, but less likely to have mental illnesses. Remember this is only if you have the gene’s for a tendency towards obesity then it hardwires your mind is a certain way, to make you more a visual/spatial thinking rather than a verbal thinker.

As I have pointed out in the past we have 2 main ways of thinking:

In the precuneus, in the brain, we are wired to have a default mode:

Verbal thinking and the default mode is a visual/spatial thinking process.

So what Kari Stefansson is saying is that if we have the DNA to a tendency towards obesity then we are wired to be more in the default mode of visual/spatial thinking, rather than being verbal thinkers. Because of this, we are less curious and less creative and less likely to have mental illnesses. This is obvious if you think about it, as visual/spatial thinking is more of an observation or self-awareness process only in the mind, and less of a verbal thinking process. Verbal thinking is responsible for psychological thinking and hence more tendency to have mental illnesses. Verbal thinking is also responsible for spinning an idea in the mind and hence is responsible for creative activity.

In the road map of the thinking mind, you can see how it all comes together. It will even explain how your genes will affect your mind from research from scientists. You can see easily what or why they are saying what they are saying. The baseline big picture of the mind is important for the transformation process of the body-mind. Carries you along to understand the wholeness of the mind and remember that it is BODY-MIND, 1-Thing. You need to find the BODY-MIND-UNIVERSE connection. How you get there is your own, but we all follow the same path and it is only that path in the mind to the “intelligence” of the universe and to function in wholeness as ONE.

So if you score high in the verbal thinking ability then they say, you are less likely to have the DNA for obesity and hence less likely of obesity and related diseases but more curious and more creative and also more likely to have mental illnesses.

We all have a different proportion of visual/ spatial thinking and verbal thinking: With the precuneus in the brain, the default mode visual thinking and the verbal thinking active mode are separated by the 2 brain hemispheres.

So what they are saying is that if you are obese, no 2 ways about it – you will suffer from various diseases: cardiovascular and liver diseases, osteoarthritis and diabetes etc.

But if you have the gene for obesity then it can also affect your mind. The tendency to be obese will be there for you but that does not mean you will become obese but the obesity gene will affect how your mind works. It will make you more of a visual/spatial thinker rather than a verbal thinker.

You can see if you have the gene for obesity you can become obese or not and the same for if you do not have the gene for obesity for various reasons, overeating etc and still suffer from the various diseases that come from being obese. BUT the minds are affected differently because of the obesity gene.

So just to paraphrase what they are saying is that if you carry the gene for obesity then it will affect your intelligence, the worse you will perform in all types of tests, in cognitive function, your verbal IQ will be less, performance IQ less, and affects many other functions of the brain.

Click looks at our DNA and how new scientific techniques may help improve our health.

But I am trying to think this out, what if you have figured your mind out and have spiritually discovered your higher faculties, and now have a tendency to sit in silence in mind and have better control over your mind, and function off a silent mind and verbal think only when necessary – can one bring about an ideal state of the mind such that the DNA make up for obesity and how it affects the mind and intelligence are made obsolete.

The obesity gene guarantees you a visual/spatial thinking mind and spiritually this is a great place to be in the mind. It is the place that gives you insight when verbal thinking is not and how does this explain that intelligence is less if you have the obesity gene. You have a greater tendency to be in the silent mind or for being in the now – so how can this be bad. It has been said when the mind is silent it puts together information or integrates information more efficiently than a verbal thinking mind does. This is how you solve problems. You solve problems by having a silent mind and a verbal thinking mind. Spiritually a visual/spatial mind is essential, rather than the distraction of the verbal thinking mind. Their conclusions seem to be concentrated only on solving problems. Cognitive ability. The working mind for a working environment and yet an innovative mind must have a visual/spatial mind space, fat gene DNA or not and from where I see things, it is ideal to have a visual/spatial mind space that lingers a lot longer than it normally does, for integration of information and for access to “insights” which only appear when the mind is silent.

You can drop anything into the baseline road map of the thinking mind and it will help you understand anything about the body-mind.

Correcting self centred thought

Having better control over one’s thinking mind.

The whole metabolic process of your body supports your mind and perception and your sense of existence. Then you need to understand that your mind is ethereal in nature. When you are alive it is like a projected screen in the cinema, the projector being the body and the mind the image on the screen. So the mind-screen is working as long as the body-projector is alive.

So we know these are the working frequencies of the body (brain)-mind:

This whole thing about the mind is very easy to see, so please don’t chit chat confuse yourself around this, make up some big star trek story about life and the mind and then all those metaphors about life just because you do not see the thing in itself about the mind. The body is alive the mind is alive. The mind is impermanent in nature, sometimes it is inflated and other times it is a flat tire, It all depends on the operating frequency of the brain. How many ways does one need to put this across for one to see the mind for what it is?

So when you are healthy the body-mind goes to sleep at night and it wakes up in the morning. Then the day will come when the projector gets faulty and it cannot create that image for you in mind again, then it is time to say goodbye. Sad so sad. So make the best of life while the mind can still inflate itself and the body is healthy and alive.

Just please remember this so you do not suffer your mind while the projector is still working: there is a part of you that is part of the Universe and it watches over everything Atman), including the shenanigans of the thinking mind, with all your opinions and biases and everchanging SELF in the mind. This is the deceitful part of the mind. If you are trapped in this part of your mind and not know of that part of you, your True Self, when all thinking in the mind has ended (sunyata), then you will suffer your mind until your last day when the projector stops working. One needs to discover your True Self and know it exists in you and that there is a part of you that is real and unchanging and which is part of the greater Universe so one can wrap that part of you around the frontline thinking mind that is ever-changing and elusive and deceitful and make sure it is always watching over you. For those of you who want God in your life you know, that is the closest you will come to a God in you while still in body-mind.

Make sure you have a “CORRECTED CENTRE” in Mind. Don’t be “enslaved” to the frontline thinking mind. Free yourself from it by knowing that there is a part of you that is True and unchanging, which you can depend on to not Lie to you. Intuitive awareness with insight, in the silent mind, is closer to your True Self than the frontline verbal thinking mind. Don’t get me wrong that both sides are required for your daily activities just know that that is that and this is this so you have better control over your thinking mind. Know the Truth in the Lie in You.

David Bohm on Krishnamurti and the problem of thought

“I think the ultimate purpose of K’s work was started very early on his life of his work which was to free humanity from the disruptive conditioning we have been talking about that is this conditioning around the self-centred thought is really an enslavement to absurdity, to disfunction, to unhappiness. No other kind of freedom means anything unless we are free from that and therefore I think he felt that once a man is free from that then the way will be open to creative unfoldment in all sorts of directions”

Reference from Video:

“K recognizes that a rational orderly factual thought, such as in proper doing sciences, is necessary and valuable, but the kind of thought he has in mind is self-centered thought.

At first sight one might wonder why self-centered thought is so bad. If the self is already there then perhaps it would be correct to center on the self because the self would be so important; but if the self is a kind of illusion, at least the self as we know it, then to center a thought on something illusory which is assumed to have supreme importance is going to disrupt the whole process. It will not only make thought about yourself wrong, it will make thought about everything wrong, so that thought becomes a dangerous and distractive instrument all around.

Because this illusory self, which is really an image, is regarded as all important, whenever anything about it appears to be threatened, the brain develops a very powerful defense mechanism to try to prevent this from taking place. You can see this in an elementary way: if somebody says you are an idiot, the image of yourself as an idiot is painful and there is an automatic response to accept assumptions proving you are not an idiot and somebody else is an idiot. But that’s the minor point.

The major point is that if somebody says something which threatens the reality of this whole structure itself, then it’s as if your whole life were at stake. All stops are pulled up. The brain responds with the instinct of self-preservation. It absolutely prevents you from considering. It may just dull the mind, or transfer attention somewhere else, or make you forget about it, or make you find yourself thinking of something else, any number of defenses.

It’s clear that when somebody like K comes along and says that this is an illusion, this isn’t there, this isn’t real, that this defense mechanism is going to be provoked into action, this then becomes the principal difficulty in listening to the communication.

Part of the defense is to make us unconscious of it. The major form of defense is simply concealment of what’s going on, because if we could see what’s going on, it would be obvious it’s an illusion. It’s like seeing through the trick of the magician. All the ways I’ve described, such as forgetting, zapping your mind or jumping to something else, are modes of concealment. You may also conceal by just denying that this is so and asserting something else. We are not conscious of this defense mechanism because this process of concealment itself has to be concealed in order to make it effective. Therefore the major part of defense consists of making this whole process unconscious.

K is suggesting, proposing and saying that the self is not the source of thought, but rather thought is the source of the self. This may seem paradoxical to our ordinary experience, but at least we can make it reasonable. The assumption of the self creates inside a kind of image of the self corresponding to that assumption with great power. That image is attributed reality, you get a feeling that it’s real. Therefore, you form the assumption that the self was the thinker, the source of thought, and there is that which you are thinking about, and besides that there is the thought which is produced by the thinker which refers to what he is thinking about. Therefore, the things which really solidly exist in that way are the thinker and what he is thinking about. Thought is a very ethereal, almost non-existent thing. But what is being suggested instead is that the thought process is real, it’s going on in the brain and nervous system, and this thought process contains in it the assumption of a thinker who produces thoughts. It’s as if we were producing a television program of a thinker producing thought and the mind is watching this program so intently that it takes it to be the reality. Therefore, thought now says: I am very modest, I am serving the thinker, but in fact it’s serving itself because it produces this thinker and then does what this thinker wants.

K talked a great deal about conditioning, and he admitted that certain kinds of conditioning were necessary, such as learning to do things. But there is a kind of conditioning around the self which is extremely strong because it contains assumptions of absolute necessity. You see, the self is considered to be something supremely important, whatever it needs is regarded as absolutely necessary, which means that it cannot be otherwise, it cannot yield, and therefore it takes first priority and it pushes everything outside including even the requirement that thought should be correct and true. Therefore it immediately starts self-deception going. That is why the thought becomes dangerous, because if the thought deceives itself it is very very dangerous.

I think the ultimate purpose of K’s work was started very early on his life of his work which was to free humanity from the disruptive conditioning we have been talking about that is this conditioning around the self-centred thought is really an enslavement to absurdity, to disfunction, to unhappiness. No other kind of freedom means anything unless we are free from that and therefore I think he felt that once a man is free from that then the way will be open to creative unfoldment in all sorts of directions.”

I act therefore I am

What is the hierarchy of thinking:

verbal thinking

subvocal speech

observation

“Courage to create”

creativity

ideas generated in the mind

feeling

emotion

I act, therefore I am.

You see why Descartes was trying to be cool, as thinking is the prerequisite to the act of doing. Internal thinking finally materialises as doing and the manifestation of the idea in the mind. Internal thinking and external manifestation.

Thinking is like you wearing an ephemeral invisible top hat that is not of the body and yet acting out thinking in doing is totally factual, observable.

Frequently we observe as if from a vantage of “another place another time” from the book:

“Normal People” by Sally Rooney:

“God. Not omniscience but an impersonal all-seeingness.”, from the book.

Here thinking and doing/acting coming together. “I think therefore I am”, and “I act therefore I am”. No acting with no thinking.

Also, remember this, it is the mind that is showing you that you exist because of the thinking process. If there is no thinking then there is no doing, or any acting out the instructions of the mind, as they will be no instructions forthcoming.

I kick football therefore I am – not cool

I think therefore I am – if you were a guy the girls will be saying. “call me”.

How do I distinguish between intution and thoughts?

We have 2 main types of thinking:

Intuition definition:

“the ability to understand something instinctively, without the need for conscious reasoning.”

No conscious reasoning – so kick verbal thinking into the long grass.

What you are left with are the silent mind and pictorial thinking. Intuition is part of this mind space. It is part of the silent mind. So you have the problem of distinguishing between pictorial thinking and Intuition.

Could we look at some brain frequencies of the silent mind:

So you know the mind needs to be silent for the intuitive process to be observed. Perhaps 8 Hz brain frequency and less.

So what is intuition – you know it is not verbal thinking, a noisy and chaotic frontline thinking mind where one has to verbalise what one wants to think for one to have to think at all. A very busy occupied mind with lots of psychological thinking in it. Ideas are spun up in the mind. Mental constructs creating opinions and biases and the personality.

Pictorial thinking is image-making in the mind. You observe and the mind sees images and you know what you are seeing. Your memory can trigger images or thoughts in your silent mind and they show up as a string of images in the mind. When your mind is silent your subconscious mind can rise, hidden away when the mind is busy and rises to the surface when the mind is silent. You know this is not intuition.

Intuition is different – it has no images but rather it is like a “sense of knowing” in you. It is more of a feeling that something is right or wrong. But more important intuition is part of an integration process in the mind. It puts information together in the mind and then you get this “sense of knowing” of what the solution is to a problem. It is a feeling of something being correct. It is almost a kind of the third eye, “sense of knowing”. A telepathic knowing can feel like intuition. They all come under the same process but intuition is more specific and a local problem solving, “sense of knowing” rather than a third eye, sense of knowing” of what the future might turn out to be. One has information and data to process and give you an intuitive solution and yet the third eye intuitive process is projecting into the future and “seeing” the unseen and the unknown ahead of you into the future, of something about to happen because it has already been created ahead of you and you/we are all about to walk into the future, kind of intuitive feeling in the body-mind.

There is a difference between processing information in the frontline verbal thinking mind and integrating information in the silent mind. When you integrate information in the frontline verbal thinking mind, you include all your biases and opinions into the solution, but with intuition, the solution is integrated without these frontline biases. Also notice both processes are very important to have in us, as an idea can only be spun together in the verbal thinking mind and you find a solution from working a problem out in the frontline thinking mind and then you get a 2nd opinion/solution in the silent mind with using the intuitive process which integrates all the information without the biases and the opinions in mind. Intuition or the silent mind is only an observational mind – it is not a spinner of ideas. It cannot spin an observation into an idea. It is only quietly silent and self-aware of things and intuition is also so, it just brings in all the information from the frontline thinking mind, and then gives you a 2nd possible opinion/solution.

If you see your mind spaces separately, knowing they all work together when needed, and yet can be separated and experienced separately. Meditation will separate the mind spaces for you. It can even take you to the ends of your mind where it disappears altogether and returns with no memory of where it has been. You can even stop thinking completely and remain silent in mind and just sense that space in mind with just consciousness and self-awareness with nothing else in mind. No image-making, no frontline verbal thinking with just “choiceless observation” in mind – Sunyata.
