In my work I see beauty in how what is created in the studio is then juxtaposed up against nature. How the shadow, that reminder of the unseen in us, is made tangible in a painting. The garden gallery gallery and capturing the shadow using photo emulsion and seeing a painting come together in the process. It is not much as of my thinking mind but that of spontaneity and how what we make as the process of painting when juxtaposed with nature in a garden. That whole process of creation itself is just put up against the natural process of creation and how it all comes together in the brain and mind and perception. It is all of that and its processes coming together within.
An interplay between spontaneity and form, the seen and unseen, the tangible and intangible. It’s an unfolding process where nature and art become one continuous creation.
That beauty is less about what we create and more about how we perceive the dance of creation.
It is about how all of it comes together within. It comes across as how beautiful that perception is in the brain and mind.
Beauty is perception. When it involves the process of creation, that process of a painting coming together in mind and how it relates to the rest of the creation of the natural universe is what is beauty itself in mind. To experience that process come together within. An interplay between spontaneity and form, the seen and unseen, the tangible and intangible. It’s an unfolding process where nature and art become one continuous creation.
It is not a mere absence of light — it is an active presence, a remnant of the unseen, made tangible through photo emulsion techniques and painting. This process captures something ephemeral, something elusive — a moment of time-space interaction that would otherwise slip away unnoticed. The shadow captures what is fleeting and intangible and makes it part of the visible world.
Beauty is in the process of becoming. It is the moment when light and form meet when the unseen becomes seen. It is when realisation in the mind becomes an awakening, and then one senses enlightenment. You see what it all means when it comes together in you — you see the real reason in art and architecture is to capture the beauty of the universe itself in its entirety. How the whole process of creating art invites the essence of the universe to come within you and get embedded within. It can only be done by doing and finding enlightenment in oneself unfolding within via that sense of the beauty of the enlightenment process unfolding within.
Beauty is the evolutionary process unfolding itself within us.
In the end, beauty is not something we seek outside of ourselves. It is the awakening of perception, the unfolding of the universe within us, through the act of creation.
