Daydreaming In My Mind

Daydreaming? ZONING OUT!

If we go to the source of thinking and how it works then we can see where daydreaming comes from. I am working of a structural baseline that I worked out about my mind and am testing it against all the chit chat about the mind. Chit chat is speculation unless it is experiential. Chit chat from the front-line self-talking thinking mind creates multiple directions from one source, creating 100’s of 1000’s of different possibilities – so where is the Truth. Observational experiential Truths are all we have to guide us. Truth from observation and repeatable and tested against chit chat about everything and anything against the experiential structural source. We are not very different from scientist in the way they work things out. We do it differently and with different tools. They work in a Laboratory. We work in the silent mind. The scientist dread the slaying of a beautiful hypothesis by a fact. The intuitive silent mind does not create hypothesis but observational Truths by listening to the repository of the Universal Mind and working things out that way. We don’t make things up in our intuitive thinking minds but that does not mean we don’t test the structural patterns against the hypothetical chit chat to know what its source is in the mind.

So what is the source of daydreaming in the mind?

How does thinking turn in the mind. All my information is from observation only. When one works out the process one finds that any question about the mind falls within that structure, and can act as a test for the observation. But this is a long story and can only be summarised here:

My observations in thinking: there are different types of thinking.

  1. There is a kind of self-talk thinking. One needs to be able to silent repeat what one wants to think for one to think at all. This is the frontline of thinking. We use this type of thinking the most. It is a very noisy type of thinking and dominates all other types of thinking. It drowns all the other types of thinking and so they don’t stand out for one to see how they work. This anomaly of self-talk coupled to the thinking process in the mind has an advantage: we can use it bring on silence in the mind by not silently speaking what we want to think. Psychological thinking comes into this category.
  2. When the mind becomes silent after self-talk thinking has been silenced we find another type of thinking still present in the mind. There is first a kind of streaming pictorial thinking in the mind. There is no self-talk in this type of pictorial thinking. When the pictorial thinking stops there is still a kind of sense-of-knowing streaming in the mind kind of thinking present. I think we call this intuition. It is possible that pictorial thinking is really a kind of image making by the intuitive process. It is just riding on top of the intuitive wave. The whole of this space in the mind is the ZONING OUT space in the mind.

Separating the 2 minds with silence in mind.

The new mind space is now this:

If one pushes the ZONING OUT mind too far into the horizon, the sense of self or the awareness of oneself can disappear as existence itself is just an illusion of the mind. What we see and reality itself is just a translation of the 5 senses and the mind, right? Just an illusion. The reality of what we are seeing, without body-mind translation, is probably just energy based. So you can see why the mind via the 5 senses stop working by ZONING OUT – everything can disappear in one’s mind and the sense of existence also disappears. Have you been in a state of cross-legged meditation where everything disappears – you leave existence and then come back again and don’t know where you have been.

In real life experiences ZONING OUT can also be a vulnerable position in today’s world of internet of things and now the advent of 5G technology. ZONING OUT gives the opportunity for the “synthetic consciousness” of radio waves to access the mind when the mind and body are not aware of itself.

Take this case of an experience I had about ZONING OUT. I was in Costa’s ordering a flat white and decided I will buy a flapjack to keep my coffee company. So I picked up the flapjack and passed it to the barista. Waiting for my coffee I went into a daydreaming mode and ZONED OUT and disappeared and when my mind came back I was looking for my flapjack in my pockets and my bag which is how I usually do it, pay for it and put it in my pocket for later. Could not find it? but later found it on the saucer with my coffee. Zoned out and forgot. Have given money across the counter and waiting for change and the longer it gets back to you, the easier it is for the cashier to say you short changed the cashier and you now have to top up with some extra cash – The longer you wait the more you are likely to ZONE OUT in a daydream and forget what you have paid. Awareness can sometimes drift into nothingness in the mind.

Since I have learned about the self-talking psychological-thinking-mind and the intuitive-listening-mind and know how to separate them using silence in mind, I now usually stay for longer periods in my intuitive mind space and use it as my main thinking platform and call in and use self-talk thinking only when I have too. One can see that ZONED OUT minds has got its drawbacks of excessive daydreaming and reminds one of being aware of the intuitive process. It is important to not let the mind to ZONE OUT into a daydream and disappear from the state of existence and put the mind in a vulnerable position at critical moments. In today’s cityscape with its enhanced infrastructure and the creation of the “synthetic consciousness” as a result – externally accessing one’s mind when one is not looking or being aware of itself, one has to wonder if one’s thinking is really one’s own?

The Truth of Things

The mind has to sit a certain way to access the Truth of things.

From what I have seen the mystics and sadhus have a certain way of doing this: they point the way for you and create the space in your mind as to where one should be and then ask us to find the Truth for ourselves. It seems like it cannot be described in words and has to be experienced.

The path they point to is this:

  • first, they tell you that one’s mind can be everything and it also can be nothing. As I sit down and write this it is everything. I am spinning an idea and a sentence and the mind is working everything out. Then I sit in a corner and meditate and my mind goes from everything to nothing. In meditation I only experience silence. Hence there are different spaces in mind that need to be experienced and to see what these different spaces in mind can do. They don’t all work the same way.
  • Then they tell us that there are limitations to our thinking mind. What limitations. They say that the mind as we know it works from a repository of our experiences and from our past in mind. So we are always working off what is already know by us. Hence the new will never show itself from what is already known. So where does the new in mind come from? That is where we need to go to.
  • We are looking for the Truth of things. The Truth will have to be an entity that is unchanging, omnipresent, all knowing where thinking of this and that is not necessary. Since everything, where the Truth is, is true – why would thinking be necessary? Intuition is sufficient to communicate with the Truth. In other words, we just listen to the sound of silence and communicate with only intention in mind.
  • There is a lot of chit chat about the Truth and what it is but please show me how I can get my mind to such a place where only intuition rules and I am listening all the time, to the sound of the silence in my mind. I don’t want this and that about my experiences anymore or my past as a repository. I want to go to that space in mind where I can see the Truth of things clearly and live with it every day and get all my information from this divine space in my mind. Take me there, please.
  • I need to shut down my mind via meditation or by understanding “speak thinking” to bring my mind to stillness by stopping the self-talk thinking in my mind and allow the intuitive thinking mind to flourish in silent awareness. In the silence and with the help of one’s intuitive awareness I access another repository that is the repository of the Truth of Things. I am only watching this vast repository of information. I am asking it questions via an intention in mind. I am working things out about matters that concern me about myself and my purpose here on this planet. I am not working it out by accessing my own repository of my past in me but rather from the vast repository of the natural space of the universe that maintains everything in order. A stable divine space created by the divine space of the universe. While I converse with the universe – I realize I am far away from the mind that I knew before of this and that and bouncing off the walls of my own limitations of what is known to me as a kind of self-talk thinking as to this new exclusively greater mind of the universe with its vast repository where everything in it is True and it is the repository of the Truth of things.
  • The mind that I knew of is long gone but still available in the periphery if I needed it.
  • My new mind:
  • Now ask the divine space any question you need to know:
  • What is the ultimate truth of life?
  • “Is life worth living?”
  • Ask any question via intention in mind and an answer is guaranteed back to you from the repository of the TRUTH. No thinking on your part is needed. Just find your way to that space in mind where everything is possible.

Don’t think you can think your way into experiencing the divine universe and feel the whole. You have to come to it and bow down before it and with its grace, because your mind is where it is, silent and listening, it gradually tells you its secrets and don’t think it is going to be speaking to you, but you can “hear” it in our thoughts, as a sense of knowing, and these thoughts are now, not your own.

In time the mind, and this space, will evolve as the whole is formed not by your thinking but by silent receiving.

Just give me a solid answer. I don’t want to be fooled by satisfaction. Tell me as it is, so I can get on the path.

I guess this might be it:

“We do not live in a world of dreams, but in a Universe which while relative, is real so far as our lives and actions are concerned. Our business in the Universe is not to deny its existence, or to spend all of our time trying to figure it out, but to LIVE while we are alive, using the Laws to rise from lower to higher–living on, doing the best that we can under the circumstances arising each day, and living, so far as is possible, to our biggest ideas and ideals. The true Meaning of Life is not known to men on this plane if, to any–but the highest authorities, and our own intuitions, teach us that we will make no mistake in living up to the best that is in us, so far as is possible, and realizing the Universal tendency in the same direction in spite of apparent evidence to the contrary. We are all on The Path–and the road leads upward ever, with frequent resting places.”

Interpretation of Mr. Scott Ramsey from the book “THE KYBALION”.

Mr Ramsey’s summary of “The Kybalion” is here:

HERMETICISM The Principle of Mentalism

The universe might be a world of dreams to us (mind and body and 5 senses translations of reality) but it is still real in reality. It might not look like what we see it to be but it still exists. Keeping that in mind we are all in the same path in trying to figure the WHOLE while we ourselves evolve in the process and develop “the powers latent in man/woman”.

I would say then this diagram below is not a bad summary for anybody who wants to know the PATH and have some idea of what to do to find the WHOLE (reality)?

I still say that if your mind is not sat a certain way, in silence in an intuitive space for “thinking” one is going to be stuck in that noisy cauldron that we call our mind, with its limitations, and everything else that comes with it.

“By a knowledge of the Principle of Vibration, as applied to Mental Phenomena, one may polarize his mind at any degree he wishes, thus gaining a perfect control over his mental states, moods, etc. In the same way he may affect the minds of others, producing the desired mental states in them.”

A little reflection on what we have said will show that the Principle of Vibration underlies the wonderful phenomena of the power manifested by the Masters and Adepts, who are able to apparently set aside the Laws of Nature, but who, in reality, are simply using one law against another; one principle against others; and who accomplish their results by changing the vibrations of material objects, or forms of energy, and thus perform what are commonly called “miracles.”

HERMETICISM The Principle of Vibration

Siri Perera’s answer to Can people really move things with their mind?

One lives the cycle of life and death repeated until all is known.

In the meantime don’t forget to learn some coding as that is the latest trend right now I hear in our reality. But then there is AI and the internet of things trying to recreate the WHOLE and connecting us to the unseen so we can better understand the real thing.

The WHOLE: As it is above so it is below: below, builds up in layers as we ascend the evolutionary cycle of the mind. Slow is fine, but we need these discoveries to move forward in leaps and bounds with giant leaps into the future of the WHOLE and the MIND.

Root Races

Information for this can come from every one of us on the planet. There is information from the scientist and also information from us via meditation and in our quest also discover new things. The ancients have set a path for us concerning the mind and we have always come back to this and sadly have said the same things for many years now with nothing new added to the information about the mind from the ancients. One can easily draw a line between all the religions etc and find the same things repeated perhaps in different ways but saying the same things.

But if we look at other aspects like in terms of evolution and the way it is projected into the future by some mystics – you can pretty well make a good guess from the present state of the mind as to where it is heading in the future.

Let us look at what is said about the evolution of the human entity. We are supposed to have evolved from just energy entities and with manifesting the body our minds have continued to evolve.

There are 7 roots races in the plan. We have gone through 4 of these in the past and we are at the 5th root race at present.

1-Datta observation of the mind

How can the nonexistence of the self be reconciled with the existence of multiple minds?

A 1-Datta Gold Standard observation of the Mind by Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj.

There is no self. Why? There is no thing as the self because our true nature is off Brahman or the universal mind. We pretend the constructs we make with the mind into personality is some kind of true self in us.

It is about looking at the facts.

Trying to trace our true self: I am not this and I am not that is because when I ask the question there is an awareness still observing and asking the question – hence how can I be that which I am looking at when I am still watching. So as I am chasing the self and trying to pin it down there is always something behind me watching and asking the question. What is that watching – that should be my true self. But as you chase it further and to the end of the cul-de-sac the watchman disappears and that is your true self. But you will never know what that is, just like your eyes cannot see itself unless the eyes use a mirror to see itself. You are just a slither of Brahman experiencing yourself through your body.

Gold standard observation by Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj – only being in the body can bring on this “beingness”. In the diagram below, when you go through all the happenings in the middle and finally see your True self – you find you are really something else other than your constructs in mind. Then what of my precious personality – Is that not my True self? All made up and constructed by the mind from an observation to give you a feeling that it is you. Hence many minds and the subjective experience. Every single one a lie in you – only to be used for whatever it was constructed for, for that moment and then discarded but not incorporated into personality. The new in you will not show itself from the past in you, or the known in you, hence get rid of them after they are constructed and return to the center. Hence, as you have heard, always be in the now where the new is accessible from the repository of the universal mind. Your True personality is of the collective Brahman, or Universal Mind, where all is off IT and we are ONE with IT.

True unity of humanity is via the One True Self. But how can our minds get closest to experiencing this True Brahman and then being One with all from that place in mind. Mind can bring itself to the point of the True self, Brahman if it gets off its Noisy self-talk thinking mind and then slip into silence in mind and into just intuitive thinking using meditation or “speak thinking”. When you get off the noisy illusion maker, and into silence, you get into the magic zone, where you now have access to experience your True self, that all encompassing energy force, that unifies all of us.

Hence, the mind is made up of constructs or illusions from your experiences. These are all just lies in the Truth in you (Brahman and Natural Law). Constructs of the mind from an observation in mind that has been spun out into something else. These create multiple minds and the lies sit next to everything that is True in you. We tend to use these constructs from our minds and because they are part of our experiences and being close to them we tend to think that this is our true self and even create a personality out of them and think it is kosher. We pass judgement on others using these lies in us. There are as many constructed minds about as there is a multitude of different experiences in all of us. Different personalities, different minds and different subjective experiences compounding the problem exponentially. Don’t expect peace on earth to be coming anytime soon.

The constructs in mind are all created by the self-talk thinking mind and not the intuitive mind. One can debunk subjectivity by giving up the self-talk thinking mind and working off the silent intuitive mind and use the self-talk thinking mind only for everyday practical/creative reasons to spin an idea out of itself, and not for psychological thinking. The intuitive mind is a non interactive mind and comes off the repository of your TRUE self where everything is a fact and true. Leave your constructs in your mind behind. They are not facts. Don’t give them importance in your mind and then use a lie in you against others who are just like you off the universal mind.

Be aware of the Truth in the lie in you.

The Extended Mind

According to the Buddha, an intelligent and serious meditator can reach perfection in a maximum of seven years. Some may take much longer. Yet some have done it in seven days, and very few overnight. The important point to realize, however, is that with every step one advances, there is a greater degree of happiness experienced.”

**********************************************************************************

Where are these messages coming from?

Mental messages? do you mean thoughts. Or a kind of pictorial thinking appearing through your mind all the time.

I see that you might have been looking at your mind closely to notice that there are thoughts? actually messages – mental messages hence i take it you do not hear them. You know what I suspect that you might be creating those mental messages yourself or you could be receiving them from your background noise in your living space. I like to help you out here but perhaps if I tell you about the different types of thinking that exists – you can decide where those mental messages are coming from.

-As it is or as you are normally at in your mind – there seems to be mainly 2 types of thinking. There is a kind of pictorial thinking where images go past your mind like in a cinema screen – you cannot seem to be able to interact with this type of pictorial thinking and you just observe them.

-There is another type of thinking which I call, “speak thinking”. In this type of thinking you need to self-talk what you are thinking so your brain can hear what you are thinking so it can process your thoughts. Here thinking is sound first. You have to sub-vocalise what you want to think so the brain can HEAR you thinking and know what you are thinking and then start processing your thoughts. These 2 features are connected to each other. If you don’t first self-talk your thoughts then you cannot think at all. You can test this now to see if it is true or not. Just watch/feel your vocal cords slight movements with each thought. I suspect this might be where those messages of yours are popping into your head because you are putting them there in the first place. Just stop the self-talk while thinking and see if those messages disappear. We want to find the source of these pop-ups right? So we look at how thinking works and control thinking and see if the messages are still there or not. It like snakes and ladders.

-There is one other type of thinking that we sometimes can miss out on and that is intuitive thinking. Intuitive thinking is like the internet – it streams thinks into your mind and most times you are not sure where it comes from. Your mind cannot interact with it like in pictorial thinking. It is like pictorial thinking but without the pictures going past your mind. It feels like that. But we can look more closely at intuitive thinking, if you want? To see it properly you need to isolate it in your mind. Get rid of all the other types of thinking and make your mind silent and empty and then see what is left in that mind space. Yes you can do this because you already have all the information above on how to do this.

You did see that that self-talk thinking example above is tied up to the process of the mind listening to what you want to think and then after hearing what you want to think it goes on and then processes your thought. Since these 2 processes are linked – if you break this link by not self-talking your thoughts you will find that you cannot think at all. That is it – don’t self-talk and one type of thinking is down. Out of the way. Then are you still getting messages? If you say yes, then lets move on.

Now that self-talk thinking is down and out of the way and you mind has become still and silent and you are looking out at what is left? – there is a sense of stillness but also a sense of “being” in this empty space of no thoughts. You are trying to stay in that space for a little bit longer. Silent. Mind watching. Are those messages still coming through? There might still be some kind of pictorial images going past your mind but it is relatively quiet in there. Any messages coming through.

You might find a kind of intuitive stream thinking of thoughts coming through your mind. Intuition is not something that you can manipulate. You can only receive this information. You cannot judge it or spin it out of its place. You can only listen and receive. You will find that all the intuitive stream thinking thoughts are true? You can have a conversation with it via a kind of intuitive intention in mind and it will understand what you need and pass you a solution. It does all the thinking for you. There is no self-talk thinking here in this silent part of the mind. So when here are you still receiving messages? Gradually and longer that you stay in this silent space you will find that the pictorial thinking starts to disappear and you are left with silence only. Even the intuitive thinking process will also disappear and return and the longer you get used to this space the more the intuitive thinking stays away. So the longer you are in this silent space and when intuitive thinking disappears altogether – are you still receiving messages in your mind?

In time what is left is a kind of tinnitus tone in your head with nothing else but a sense of silent “being”.

Now, are you still receiving messages? If Yes, then you have to start looking into your background noise in your living space and see if technology is communicating with you via that tinnitus sound in your head. There are many ways it can do this. You won’t hear anything but for that tinnitus sound in your head. If you listen to it carefully you can hear it modulating at times. I think that is all the brain needs to do and that is to process a sound in your head/mind from the background, just like it does self-talk thinking as it is sound first. You see in silent sub-vocal speech where only the vocal cords creates modulating tones in the body because without the tongue and lips to create the words then all you are going to get sounding in your head for your brain to hear what you are thinking are modulating tones only. This is your thinking sounds. How does it get to the brain? I assume these vibrations will cause internal skin tissue and delicate bones to vibrate and create a sound in your head and neck passages. These sound vibrations will make its way to the cochlea of the ear and then processed as hearing which then gets to the brain for processing. This is thinking: self-talk silent sub-vocal speech first or sound first. This is why a “silent” subliminal message can be processed effectively and goes directly to feelings and strange thoughts pop-up that has nothing to do with what you are doing at that moment. Here the subliminals are coming in sound first just like thinking is sub-vocal speech first. This is how subliminal activity work on the mind creating pop-up feeling messages out of nowhere or for no reason. It is riding on the wave of how thinking is processed, with sound first.

Hence one should consider the background noise in your living space as an extension of your mind via your 5 senses. This is that intangible side of you that you don’t hear or consider to be important yet it can generate feelings in you that you might not understand or make you do things that you might not normally do as in today’s technological world of wifi and radio signals from 4G to 5G – your mind is not just your own anymore among technology and the modern living space. Beyond that the natural world and its laws has always been communicating with you since millennia. Your mind is an extension of the natural world. Today, you need to know what is riding on the wave of your natural self and how the extended universe (Brahman/universal mind) is also part of you.

When background noise communicates with you it only lets you know by feelings in you. You hear nothing but a cacophony of sounds and vibrations externally, and internally a modulating tinnitus tone and the messages comes through as feelings. You don’t hear the message, or see it or hear it as you normally do as it goes from nothing in mind to a pop-up sudden feeling in mind, because a thought has been created in you coming in as a subliminal message. If you think they are coming from the vibrations of the background noise then you have found the source of your messages.

I think monks go to caves to sort out this problem of background noise. Technology is creating a kind of synthetic consciousness that is competing with natural consciousness. One needs to be in an enlightened silent space in mind to sort this out. Like self-talk thinking was once a barrier in the external mind, this intrusion in this deep mind silent space when sorted will become the next frontier for magical discovery. You can only know the Truth of beauty and nature with your extended mind, when all of your mind is your own. Background noise is creating a significant intrusion and comes in silently as a mumble or a modulating tinnitus like tone such that one has to ask the question: are all my thoughts my own?

I just had this idea pop-up in my mind: perhaps the first step to sorting or understanding this problem of background noise intrusion and thoughts or messages popping up in the mind is by using a noise cancelling in ear headphone (preferable Bose) to see if background noise intrusion can be reduced to give a truly silent mind.

The big picture.

When you try and find the different spaces in your mind and finally come to the silent intuitive mind then it can have more uses than just being in that space. “Being” itself is enough but it can be used as a base to work from and even bring in other aspects of thinking to it, like the noisy self-talk thinking and then send it back. Self-talk thinking is an uncontrolled type of thinking that creates lie’s and illusions and much of the shenanigans that goes on in our life’s. Maybe this could be a possible cause to just stay in the silent intuitive space and work off it:

This is the difference between a brain scan of a normal brain and one with PTSD.

This brain scan belongs to Ariana Grande, the singer.

Ariana Grande was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after the Manchester Arena attack in 2017. Since then the singer has been open and honest about her mental health to her millions of followers.”

Ariana Grande shares brain scan showing PTSD impact from Manchester Arena bombing

Notice the healthy brain has normal activity and the one with PTSD has got a lot of highlights. The pattern is different. The brain is different. There are many different brains in existence created by self-talk thinking. Some call it many personalities created by thinking – self-talk thinking but not from intuitive thinking as intuitive thinking is only a receiving force and it cannot be manipulated.

Symptoms of PTSD:

According to the NHS, signs include:

Flashbacks and nightmares

Repetitive and distressing images or sensations

Physical sensations such as pain, sweating, feeling sick or trembling

Feeling ‘on edge’

Avoidance

This is all from your front line 1st mind self-talking mind. It is a disaster maker in your mind. One needs to get out of it and work off an inner more tranquil quiet space in mind. It really is useful to find spaces in your mind that is more conducive to everyday living, less deceitful and with less of your own thinking and more of what the natural laws of the universe hold in its repositories and gives you with intuitive thinking.

Use self-talk thinking to give you the upgrades and pop-ups with creativity and spinning of ideas: but do we need it in other matters? We certainly don’t need it to constantly remind us of our problems and fears such that we become incapacitated (PTSD). Let the silent intuitive more benevolent mind help you with your life purposes but one has to find it first.

Just stop self-talk thinking and you find yourself in this silent calm benevolent space with just intuitive thinking in mind. It is easy to fall into this meditative state of the silent mind. Don’t need to cross your legs. Crosslegged meditation is a fine practice BUT we need a walking talking meditative intuitive mind in our daily life’s – just stop self-talk thinking. Focus on your vocal cords and make sure there is no movement in it and that you are not silently speaking what you are thinking. This is the source of the self-talk thinking process or the thinking process as you know it. You want intuitive thinking in the silent mind, to dominate your everyday thinking process.

So what is all this jingle jangle about the mind all about? The first port of call is Samadhi. Strangely it seems that this is all that is necessary to come to the state of enlightenment. The process is one of an inwards process of taking oneself apart by one’s own mind, seeing its limitations and the trying to find out what is real and what is not in oneself. There is the self-talking mind that is good at creating lies and illusions in you. One needs to come to see the Truth in all the lies in oneself and to know that this is this, the Truth, and that was an illusion made by the mind. An illusion is when an observation is taken and spun into a lie by the self-talking mind. It is taking the power of “now”, a fact, and turning it into something else. The whole of society was created this way and so was the painting that is on the wall. All created by the same process in mind.

Samadhi is understanding that the “self” is made up of the lies that the self-talking mind makes up about itself. So we have to get real about this “self” and see it for what it is. Every second past an observation is a lie made up by the mind and incorporated into personality. We made this personality real when really it is an illusion. We can come to this realization slowly if we want by realizing this. When the realization is fathomed and we know that the culprit is the self-talking thinking mind then it makes sense to try to control it. We can either let psychological thinking play its game and create this lie in oneself – or let it not play at all because we have had enough of it.

So when we stop self-talk thinking altogether and use it only when needed for practical purposes or when the creative process kicks in and one wants to see how far we can take the observation. Can we find an intuitive space behind that noisy self-talking space? When one puts this all together then it is called Samadhi. This state of mind is an important state to experience as it brings one closer to the energies that we are living with and to experience them. Perhaps there are other states of mind after the Samadhi state of mind to be discovered by oneself. There might be steps up from just Samadhi but initially, there should be better control over the self-talking mind. There is an anomaly in us that we need to simultaneously silently speak what we think. We can control thinking by just being aware of the movement in the vocal cords. It is an “overnight” tool in the mind for Samadhi.

According to the Buddha, an intelligent and serious meditator can reach perfection in a maximum of seven years. Some may take much longer. Yet some have done it in seven days, and very few overnight. The important point to realize, however, is that with every step one advances, there is a greater degree of happiness experienced.”

What you want? a Porsche Boxter or Samadhi. You choose.

Consciousness and the “Integrated Information Theory”

Tell me the Truth: after you have read all the Samadhi material and the mind and meditation stuff – what is the furthest they have gone in showing us what is at the end of the tunnel. They will go as far as saying that one has to get to a silent mind, meditate and meet the true self – experience it. But then is consciousness part of that true self. If it is then our true self is also part of everybody’s else’s true self as there are many true self’s connected to this one massive Cosmic Mind. Hence can our true self be experienced only when consciousness itself is removed from the equation.

So lets look at what Giulio Tononi is suggesting in his Theory about consciousness.

He says, one only sense consciousness or self-awareness when there is a kind of integration that occurs in the brain through observation. Giulio Tononi’s “integrated information theory” might solve neuroscience’s biggest puzzle – consciousness.

It is not something that you can sense until the brain starts to compute its presence because of how you interact with your environment. There are a lot of possibilities to consider here. what happens when one is in meditation and devoid of thinking and eyes shut from the external world – can we still be self-aware of the hidden force.

See what you think of Tononi’s theory that self-awareness and consciousness might be sensed only as the result of the mindbody interacting with its environment:

“I realised that knowing what consciousness is and how it came about is crucial to understanding our place in the universe and what we do with our lives,” says Giulio Tononi, a neuroscientist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

and,

“It begins with a set of axioms that define what consciousness actually is.”

and,

“each experience will be different depending on the particular circumstances, meaning there are a huge number of possible experiences. And it is integrated. If you look at a red book on a table, its shape and colour and location – although initially processed separately in the brain – are all held together at once in a single conscious experience. “

and,

“From these axioms, Tononi proposes that we can identify a person’s (or an animal’s, or even a computer’s) consciousness from the level of “information integration” that is possible in the brain (or CPU). According to his theory, the more information that is shared and processed between many different components to contribute to that single experience, then the higher the level of consciousness.”

Then what happens during deep meditation?. To a certain extent one is still aware and sense the surrounding and mind. But there are times the mind can disappear and we lose time and the presence of the body and then we come back and wonder where we had been those few moments. Ironically when the self becomes one with the true self it cannot experience itself. How can the self see itself when the consciousness cord is cut and when it is itself on its own and not connected to the cosmic whole.

This is what Giulio Tononi is saying about his experiments in mapping out brain interactions with actions in mind.

One study, published in 2015, examined the brains of participants under various forms of anaesthesia – including propofol and xenon. To get an idea of the brain’s capacity to integrate information, the team applied a magnetic field above the scalp to stimulate a small area of the cortex underneath – a standard non-invasive technique known as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). When awake, you would observe a complex ripple of activity as the brain responds to the TMS, with many different regions responding, which Tononi takes to be a sign of information integration between the different groups of neurons.

But the brains of the people under propofol and xenon did not show that response – the brainwaves generated were much simpler in form compared to the hubbub of activity in the awake brain.  By altering the levels of important neurotransmitters, the drugs appeared to have “broken down” the brain’s information integration – and this corresponded to the participants’ complete lack of awareness during the experiment. Their inner experience had faded to black.

Hence is deep meditation  anaesthesia? –  “Their inner experience had faded to black” where brain manifesting a probability stops.

What are you saying – that being self-aware or sensing consciousness at any moment is as a result of the 5 senses. That consciousness itself is experienced or felt only when an “integration” takes place. If not we don’t even know it is there? What happens then when we meditate or when our minds are silent of thinking – can we still feel consciousness here or it is there but not felt? So consciousness has to interact with the brain/mind via the 5 senses for us to know it is present?

and then,

“Giulio Tononi’s theory asserts that consciousness arises from certain kinds of information processing.”

and,

“They are combined and cross-linked to form a meaningful narrative. Every time we experience something new, it is integrated with that previous information. It is the reason that the taste of a single madeleine can trigger a memory from our distant childhood – and it is all part of our conscious experience.”

There is no escape from experiential data or is there? How is the new in you going to take giant steps if it has to follow the past in you all the time? This is not acceptable and evolution should be allowed to take giant leaps forward rather than follow the past in you. The “new” in you can arise from nothing and from a mind that is void of thoughts and the 5 senses only in “choiceless observation”. When you see the pop-ups of the new in you when your mind is empty, then sticking them to the past in you is just a waste of a good thing from the repository of the Truth of Things.

and,

“Although the concept of “group consciousness” may seem like a stretch, he thinks that Tononi’s theory might help us to understand how large bodies of people sometimes begin to think, feel, remember, decide, and react as one entity.”

and,

“…in the future, Tononi’s theory may help us to understand ‘minds’ that are very alien to our own.”

There are different ways of thinking. One can separate one’s self-talking thinking mind from the intuitive thinking mind and think only from an intuitive space:

Then silent the mind using “speak thinking” or meditation:

You then get to no mind, all knowing sense of being and finally sever consciousness completely and “fade to black” and all alone in the Cosmos. I cannot see how one can get any further than this in this spiritual thing about the mind. This must be the end point of what our minds can experience when still alive but we can find many mind spaces as we float around in our minds and think differently from others and see what powers might lie in those unseen crevices.

Tathagata – 2 minds thinking:

I guess why we do spirituality all the time is because there is some kind of evolution of the mind which takes place when we find different mind spaces and think differently from those mind spaces. Our mind-body and spirit becomes what we put into it.

In deep meditation when the mind and memory and self disappears and the body is lost is it because there is no more interaction of consciousness with the brain. Consciousness is “seen” in the brain only when thinking during self-talk thinking or intention in mind during intuitive stream thinking needs to communicate with its repositories.

The mind I feel can work itself into silence in mind until this consciousness presence is severed and the mind and self stand alone with itself. Coincidently, in deep meditation, there is no memory of the moment when the brain and the mind separate and stands alone. Hence is it possible that consciousness itself is where the mind is located, in the ether around us and is part of the universe/cosmic mind? Our body is only a vessel and when the body dies – the rest of us is still alive.

This video will show you where others have been and how you can go into the ends of the earth in the mind and double back and find a sweet spot for you to exist. If the mind can travel back and forth in different mind spaces and experience different aspects of you – then what does it say about what you consider reality in your mind. What you see and hear in front of you is only because of the translation of your 5 senses especially your eyes. It is just an interpretation of the electrical activity in your eyes after receiving the different frequencies that are emitted by the objects you see and the mind creates an image for you to make it real. There are other frequencies around you that you cannot see and that does not mean that it cannot affect you. Everything is an illusion outside and inside of you in your mind. So what is your true self? So what is “new”.

Are we close to solving the puzzle of consciousness?

Which is Your True Self?

Know thy true self. I am the watchman the Absolute? How do I find this out?

An individual mind: Thinking pops up out of consciousness and is surrounded by the Absolute.

More than 1 way to say the same thing:

All of us connected by the Absolute:

How do you find your True Self: a simple process of elimination of: if I am aware of it then that thing that I am aware of cannot be me, because there is an entity still behind that phenomenon that is watching it. My true self must be that thing watching. You are looking for the last “thing” in the puzzle and finding it by a process of elimination. Simples.

I am AWARE of my body – hence I am not that.

I am AWARE thinking creates illusions – hence I am not that.

I am AWARE that all illusions of the mind are riding on the wave of consciousness – hence I am not that.

Am I pure consciousness itself? Possibly? So I go silent in mind via meditation or by the realization of “speak thinking” and when all else is eliminated and thinking has disappeared there is a sense of being in the presence of something that is communicating with me via intuitive thinking. Now what is that that I am communicating with – but wait, I am still aware of this thing that I am communicating with via intuitive stream thinking. If intuitive thinking is carried by consciousness and consciousness itself can totally disappear in deep meditation where consciousness is itself a slither of the Absolute in each individual, then what is that, that is watching when all else has disappeared. It has been reported by mystics that when all else is eliminated and only the awareness is present – the body can go into some sort of non-functioning stupor.

It gives one the impression that the body is just the carrier of the whole process of “being” and the Baba’s and mystics have been for centuries trying to find out what is our true self. The body and all these energy frequencies of the mind are all perhaps wired up to the ether and the Cosmos. So if one looks at all of it and ask oneself – which one is truly me. What is the true self that is carrying all of these processes. From the inner to the outer and the outer to the inner – in that puzzle what is truly me.

So what is my True Self?

Whatever I am AWARE of, I am definitively not that because there is still something that is doing the AWARENESS.

So who is the watcher? That must be my true self?

I must be AWARENESS itself or the thing that is being AWARE of everything. I must be that! That is my true self!

That is that sea of energy that carries all phenomenon – the watcher keeping an eye on its creation.

That thing which is doing the AWARENESS is the ABSOLUTE (or Brah-man or the Watch-man) to give it another name. Call it anything you want to but that is possibly your true self. What it looks like and what are its properties is another narrative all together. Perhaps some of the mystics might have got to it but some say that we will never know because the watchman cannot watch itself. It is being said that it is like the eye trying to see itself – it cannot do it directly, unless it is watching through a mirror. So even if you filter your mind down via silence and meditation and eliminating everything before it and observing your minds journey and you arrive at the Absolute – you will have no memory of it when you come out of it, because your true self cannot watch itself. Perhaps some of you have been there and done it and know what this feels like of not having a memory of where you have been during meditation or during an intense silent intuitive experience. That is perhaps because you have been home and back when the play of the processes of the mind starts up again and memory returns.

The same Absolute is common to everybody else.

So at its core “I AM” is like everybody else’s.

Just that my mind creates a lot of illusions or lie’s that can be different to everybody else’s and I think “I” am those illusions which can fool me to thinking that I am that.

Hence there are no good or bad people as we are all off the same Absolute/Watchman/Brahman.

Only good and bad actions and intentions created by the thinking mind and the Absolute, or “I”, my true self, the “Watchman”, am AWARE of it.

If we are still wondering if silence is the way forward for the future then here is one of the powers that come from that space of silence. It is a new way of thinking altogether apart from that self-talk thinking that you use now. Both are needed but there is also this intuitive stream like thinking hiding behind all that noise of self-talk thinking. This space seems to be an evolutionary space in mind – the more you use it and the longer it stays with you the more powerful that space becomes.

See how the remote viewers see that space in mind.

Psychic Abilities | Russell Targ

He quotes the Patanjali Yoga Sutras:

“Yoga is the progressive settling of the mind into silence.

When the mind is settled, we are established in our own essential state,
which is unbounded consciousness.

Our essential nature is usually overshadowed by the activity of the mind”

Your true self is hidden behind the noise of all that thinking.

-Meditation with a mantra can bring you silence.

-Knowing what “speak thinking” is can also bring silence to your mind.

-These are all distraction techniques to stop you thinking and to bring on silence in mind.

See what is hidden behind the noisy frontline of thinking of your mind.

-See what continuous intuitive stream thinking feels like.

-Who are you intuitively communicating with in a silent mind.

-As Russell Targ says: can you see the future or the past of everything from this silence space.

-What else are others saying about this silence space.

Tomorrow is already here today but you need to first find it hidden behind the noise of thinking.

The Power of Thinking in The Silent Mind

I did not realize that there are naturals working exclusively with intuitive thinking. But you can come to this type of intuitive thinking via “meditation”.

Meditation does this: it shuts down the self-talk thinking mind and brings on a kind of silent intuitive self-streaming thinking kind of mind. You can either sit in this state of silent “being” and think intuitively or return to your noisy-self-talk thinking mind. Meditation can show how to open up and recognize this intuitive thinking mind that you talk about.

I am not sure where you “naturals” sit with this but I have described it here in another Quora article how the mind opens up to different types of thinking and “seeing” from a noisy mind of self-talk thinking to a silent intuitive stream thinking type of mind. I can shift from one to the other, because I “see” how it works, or remain longer in any one of them depending on how I want to use my mind or on what I am doing. Because one can split it open and see them differently and work in them separately, that does not mean that they don’t work together simultaneously in reality. In reality daydreaming I think is an aspect of intuitive thinking. There is also a kind of pictorial thinking with images that I think is carried by the intuitive wave.

You can easily distinguish between self-talk thinking and Intuitive thinking – In self-talk thinking one can spin an idea in the mind until the original observation is completely altered. I think Psychological thinking will also come into this category: play up an incident on the mind while cranking up the emotional side in you while you create a mountain out of a molehill. With intuitive thinking spinning an idea is not within its process. It seems that you only receive information with this type of thinking and “watch” everything fall into place. One is unable to alter the intuitive thought or spin it into something else and there seems to be only a sense of “being” and receiving.

Here I tried my best to show in words how the mind spaces open up during meditation or after shutting down one’s self-talk thinking mind to bring on silence in mind and the intuitive mind, so one can work exclusively with just intuition.

This below is more than just a meditation blog and do the “naturals” relate to this?
