This is such a great place to visit.
Initially you enter into the commercial world of color and textiles. There is always something new on display, like this traditional weaving machine outside by the cafe. Cool people sipping coffee and having lunch. The place is well designed with purpose from the vibrating exciting colorful entrance, through to the bookshop and out into the open courtyard for the cafe and the Art Gallery.
All in one from the display of commercial Art to the more somber atmosphere of the artist studio and the interior courtyard cafe. The sun beaming down. The art gallery in front of you. It is a place to ponder and reflect on anything and everything. When I am in Colombo visiting Barefoot is a must and sometimes to just run through it all, like you would in a gallery in London, but Barefoot is an installation with a difference to be experienced. It has this feeling of the past made present.
