Living without walls or…

…Compare and Compute Images

Ghost Imaging: It is about taking a picture without a lens.

What is Ghost Imaging?

GHOST IMAGING: A form of picture-taking in which the camera need not directly “see” its object – and which uses quantum physics to compute a final image.

ADVANTAGES: With sunlight ghost imaging, scientists can theoretically take pictures from thousands of miles, through smoke, clouds and heat, and without using a lens.

IMAGE QUALITY: For a digital camera to attain the same resolution a sunlight ghost-imaging camera gets from 10 km away, it would need a lens 92 meters wide.

This is new 2012 research and you might as well build your homes without walls as there will be no place to hide in the future.  And you thought that high definition CCTV microwave cameras on the streets were going to be an intrusion on your privacy.

What!

Why!

In its natural form what this system does is it looks at 2 properties of light at the quantum level.  Yes at the lowest level of structure of matter to take a picture: photons of light.  And even here scientist cannot agree that light can behave as both a particle and a wave at the same time, so how does it work.  At that level scientist can only agree that it works by doing and not exactly how it works.

Basically from the jingle gangle of the literature on this ‘camera’ it looks at 2 aspects of light photons.  One from the source of light and measures it.  The other from the reflected source of light from the object.  Remember that it is not even looking at the object is how it works.  Like this: you point the camera in the direction of a certain city.  It collects the reflected light from that direction.  It then measures the light coming from the sun, its pure source of light photons.  The realtime data is then collected and compared and computed by a com-pu-ter. It then puts together an image from this information.

“The image starts out ghostlike. As data are added, it grows in detail. Eventually it takes full shape……………”

“With some elegant implementations, the ghost image [is] indistinguishable from a photograph,” said Physicist Ronald Meyers, quantum team lead with the Computational and Information Sciences Directorate part of the U.S. Army Research Laboratory scientists.

“Scientists from Europe to Asia have long been able to produce ghost images using artificial light as a source, but until last summer, no one could pull it off using sunlight.”

Physicist Ronald Meyers with caption explaining how the process works.

It all started here: Sanjit Karmakar, a post-doctoral physics fellow at University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC).

“The first detector (Detector A) registers all the light that enters its chamber. The second, Detector B, sits a few inches from the object Karmakar is “photographing” — today, a slotted card — and registers only the photons that bounce off the object. The detectors “click” in unison hundreds of times, establishing a record of paired light intensities as the day wears on.”

and “Only quantum physics makes sense of the data”.

“His breakthrough means scientists might soon be able to photograph any object on which sunlight falls – in other words, any object in the world”.

The above application of taking a picture at the quantum level was using Sunlight.  Comparing 2 sources: the source light and reflected light and then computing an image.  What if sunlight is replaced by another form of energy in the electromagnetic spectrum. There are modified applications to this process using laser light.  The application is similar: compare source light to reflected light and compute, but they need to find a source of energy that is generally homogeneous to start with.  That is there must be no dispersion of the source energy on its journey to the object prior being reflected by it.  Hence in laser light they needed to find a beam that remains constant.  Hence the Bessel beam.

“A Bessel beam is a field of electromagnetic, acoustic or even gravitational radiation whose amplitude is described by a Bessel function of the first kind.[1][2] A true Bessel beam is non-diffractive. This means that as it propagates, it does not diffract and spread out; this is in contrast to the usual behavior of light (or sound), which spreads out after being focussed down to a small spot. Bessel beams are also self-healing, meaning that the beam can be partially obstructed at one point, but will re-form at a point further down the beam axis“. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bessel_beam)

Hence the Bessel beam is a type of beam but not of any particular energy.  Its properties are it should be: non-diffractive and self healing while it propagates after being focused down to a spot.  A Bessel beam laser light tends to reform itself behind the object after it is obstructed by it.  Essentially a Bessel beam is one where  the beam properties do not change during the beam’s propagation.  With these properties quantum images can be taken as source and reflected measurements can be taken and compared and computed.  Unlike sunlight these laser beams have penetrative power.  That is the difference from using sunlight for more generally wider scale images.  Hence here they might have the ability to look through walls and images that are behind dense foliage which will be useful in combat situations.

Seeing through walls: Laser system reconstructs objects hidden from sight

“What this demonstrates is that by combining virtual ghost imaging with a highly diffraction-free coherent light source like a Bessel beam, it’s possible to probe through conditions that would normally thwart other imaging technologies,” Meyers says.

“Bessel beams are self-healing and provide an important tool in virtual ghost imaging,” said Meyers. “Even after passing through distortions or a mask, the same well-defined ring shapes reemerge.” So long as enough photons make it to the target and back to the single-photon detector, it’s possible to construct an image.

“They found the Bessel beam insensitive to scattering of objects. Based on their findings, the method would be helpful in imaging objects through vegetation, forest or jungles, and even around corners. In the future virtual ghost imaging could be useful for special operations work in difficult environments for military surveillance.”

Science is coming very close to imaging anything it wants too at the quantum level.

INDIA: Tomorrow’s world today

I wonder what natural Brain imaging is like.  The eyes takes in source sunlight and reflected light and does it create time related images in its mind as a result of the above processing methods.  Is the above experiment as a result of nature to technology.  The eyes and brain technology is really a natural ghost imaging gadget.  Do psychics use this technique to image past events from the lingering energy in the ether.  How much of our own natural subliminals come from this natural technique.  Are we cool or not as a natural entity.  How do Yogi’s know minutes before that a friend is visiting and starts to prepare a meal for the meeting.

“Autobiography of a Yogi”, Indian  is an autobiography of Paramahansa Yogananda first published in 1946. (ISBN 81-7224-660-9 reprint of 1946 first edition).

A 1920 photograph published in Autobiography of a Yogi, showing Yogananda attending a religious congress Indian upon his arrival in the United States.

But then look at ongoing research today on “mind reading”.  Infact look at the reverse of the above process: ask people to watch a video clip while imaging their brain activity.  Then create an algorithm that can play back the imaging results and see how close the images of brain activity correspond to the actual video clip that they were viewing.  The results are below.

Now if remote brain imaging is possible by through-wall microwave techniques then you have bingo right there, when you can play them back.  You will be able to see a person’s intention  during playback.  You put “speak thinking” and remote brain imaging together and you have the whole person inside out: you know what he is thinking and see his/her intentions as a bonus.  There will be or already there is no hiding place for the individual.  Think what a farce the voting system will become with mass scale subliminals influencing who we vote, for public office. Tomorrows world today is not something you want to vote for.  No X’s for this in the future.  An enhanced form of nature has made its way into the tech. world and we are at the mercy of the unseen processed subliminals.  “Boludo” is hardly the way we can describe the position we will be in.

Voice-to-skull (V2K) video

Above clip is a very good explanation of how V2K works.  The expansion and contraction of the brain tissue (at 10.30 minutes on clip) to the microwave signal pattern carrying the subliminal is picked by the inner ear cochlea and the message is played out.  Now the reason i am bring this up here now to to point out that if microwave signals can directly affect the brain in that way to induce voices  through its signal frequency and pattern then it can also do the same to other functions of the brain.  The source of the signal can be either from a processed source directed at you or it can come from the magnetrons emitting microwaves from your plasma fluorescent bulbs and your energy safe bulbs in your home.

Lets see how it can affect your sleep patterns.

“However, other experiments also have shown increased levels of melatonin after exposure to magnetic or electromagnetic fields [36–38]. Unfortunately, a biologically plausible explanation for this effect is not yet available.” http://www.upkh.hr/doc/Article%20in%20JPR.pdf

This is just one of the processes of the body that can be affected by an external electromagnetic stimuli.  Melatonin is a biological chemical produced by the pineal gland in your brain that affects your sleeping pattern.  It tell you when to wake up and when to go to sleep at night.  It’s production by the pineal gland is controlled by the amount of light that enters your eyes.  The level of melatonin is low with more light through your eyes, hence low during the day to high at night which puts you to sleep.  Now if a microwave signal can stimulate your pineal gland to produce melatonin during the day, it will make you sleepy. (having said this you will find information on melatonin production contradictory in how EM signals affects melatonin production).

Hence subliminals through microwave signals can put a voice in your head to tell you, you are going to sleep; stimulate your pineal gland to put you to sleep; and by sending you brain imaging signals while you sleep tell you what to dream.  And the technology is already here to make this happen.

So we will need to ask ourselves: what’s new.  Nothing can be ‘new’ if we live under the clutches of either nature’s templates or processed organised enhanced form of natures properties through technology.

Think of its applications in the arts.

And if the human body is a ball of energy it will be coming close to capturing the subtle intangible body of the artist at work and her/his intentions.

Tomorrow’s worlds today.
