Buddhism Tomorrow

Do we seriously think that tomorrow is still going to be like today.  Are we going to be doing things the same way?  Do you notice that the the drive towards the future comes with some of the past and a little bit of today to make the future.  The front line of the future progresses at a snails pace.  There are no giant leaps.  Our minds might be capable of creating them but acceptance of the new is always tied up with the past in you.  Hence the giant leaps are always rejected because people don’t see the past in the new ideas.

So do we really think that the practice of Buddhism is going to go the same way it did about 5000 years ago.  When technology catches up with understanding the mind it is going to use a gadget to get to Nirvana.  It is going to do the same things that cross-legged Buddhism did  for the mind in the past but now it uses technology to get to Nirvana.

Buddhism is all about establishing states-of-mind.  You understand how the evolution of the mind works.  You see how thinking works by understanding the process through observation. You see how ideas and creativity creates the images and manifest them around you in creating the city.  You see that there are illusions created by the mind.

Buddhism is states of the mind that one comes through by observation and meditation.  “When you see it you have it” as Jiddu Krishnamurti used to say.  Time is not necessary to see the mind better.  You only need to see the real in you by observation or being aware of the movement of your mind and when you see a fact in it then you have it.

Hence in the new technological world of today and the future – the gadgets will show you those states of mind that the Buddha discovered many years ago.  Buddhism of the future will not have the same process of attaining Samadhi and Nirvana as it did with the Buddha.  The future will show you how those mind states can be experienced by placing a gadget on your head:

THYNC, the gadget above can show you 2 states:

The state of Samadi and the energize state of action or work.

A time will come when I will not need a lecture from the traditional temple – with its old ways of the past – to understand the spirit in me.  It will come from a center that will show me the limitations of my mind by inducing states of minds in me by various methods and gadgets.  This will be the future of Buddhism with a new name.
