Which is Your True Self?

Know thy true self. I am the watchman the Absolute? How do I find this out?

An individual mind: Thinking pops up out of consciousness and is surrounded by the Absolute.

More than 1 way to say the same thing:

All of us connected by the Absolute:

How do you find your True Self: a simple process of elimination of: if I am aware of it then that thing that I am aware of cannot be me, because there is an entity still behind that phenomenon that is watching it. My true self must be that thing watching. You are looking for the last “thing” in the puzzle and finding it by a process of elimination. Simples.

I am AWARE of my body – hence I am not that.

I am AWARE thinking creates illusions – hence I am not that.

I am AWARE that all illusions of the mind are riding on the wave of consciousness – hence I am not that.

Am I pure consciousness itself? Possibly? So I go silent in mind via meditation or by the realization of “speak thinking” and when all else is eliminated and thinking has disappeared there is a sense of being in the presence of something that is communicating with me via intuitive thinking. Now what is that that I am communicating with – but wait, I am still aware of this thing that I am communicating with via intuitive stream thinking. If intuitive thinking is carried by consciousness and consciousness itself can totally disappear in deep meditation where consciousness is itself a slither of the Absolute in each individual, then what is that, that is watching when all else has disappeared. It has been reported by mystics that when all else is eliminated and only the awareness is present – the body can go into some sort of non-functioning stupor.

It gives one the impression that the body is just the carrier of the whole process of “being” and the Baba’s and mystics have been for centuries trying to find out what is our true self. The body and all these energy frequencies of the mind are all perhaps wired up to the ether and the Cosmos. So if one looks at all of it and ask oneself – which one is truly me. What is the true self that is carrying all of these processes. From the inner to the outer and the outer to the inner – in that puzzle what is truly me.

So what is my True Self?

Whatever I am AWARE of, I am definitively not that because there is still something that is doing the AWARENESS.

So who is the watcher? That must be my true self?

I must be AWARENESS itself or the thing that is being AWARE of everything. I must be that! That is my true self!

That is that sea of energy that carries all phenomenon – the watcher keeping an eye on its creation.

That thing which is doing the AWARENESS is the ABSOLUTE (or Brah-man or the Watch-man) to give it another name. Call it anything you want to but that is possibly your true self. What it looks like and what are its properties is another narrative all together. Perhaps some of the mystics might have got to it but some say that we will never know because the watchman cannot watch itself. It is being said that it is like the eye trying to see itself – it cannot do it directly, unless it is watching through a mirror. So even if you filter your mind down via silence and meditation and eliminating everything before it and observing your minds journey and you arrive at the Absolute – you will have no memory of it when you come out of it, because your true self cannot watch itself. Perhaps some of you have been there and done it and know what this feels like of not having a memory of where you have been during meditation or during an intense silent intuitive experience. That is perhaps because you have been home and back when the play of the processes of the mind starts up again and memory returns.

The same Absolute is common to everybody else.

So at its core “I AM” is like everybody else’s.

Just that my mind creates a lot of illusions or lie’s that can be different to everybody else’s and I think “I” am those illusions which can fool me to thinking that I am that.

Hence there are no good or bad people as we are all off the same Absolute/Watchman/Brahman.

Only good and bad actions and intentions created by the thinking mind and the Absolute, or “I”, my true self, the “Watchman”, am AWARE of it.

If we are still wondering if silence is the way forward for the future then here is one of the powers that come from that space of silence. It is a new way of thinking altogether apart from that self-talk thinking that you use now. Both are needed but there is also this intuitive stream like thinking hiding behind all that noise of self-talk thinking. This space seems to be an evolutionary space in mind – the more you use it and the longer it stays with you the more powerful that space becomes.

See how the remote viewers see that space in mind.

Psychic Abilities | Russell Targ

He quotes the Patanjali Yoga Sutras:

“Yoga is the progressive settling of the mind into silence.

When the mind is settled, we are established in our own essential state,
which is unbounded consciousness.

Our essential nature is usually overshadowed by the activity of the mind”

Your true self is hidden behind the noise of all that thinking.

-Meditation with a mantra can bring you silence.

-Knowing what “speak thinking” is can also bring silence to your mind.

-These are all distraction techniques to stop you thinking and to bring on silence in mind.

See what is hidden behind the noisy frontline of thinking of your mind.

-See what continuous intuitive stream thinking feels like.

-Who are you intuitively communicating with in a silent mind.

-As Russell Targ says: can you see the future or the past of everything from this silence space.

-What else are others saying about this silence space.

Tomorrow is already here today but you need to first find it hidden behind the noise of thinking.

The Power of Thinking in The Silent Mind

I did not realize that there are naturals working exclusively with intuitive thinking. But you can come to this type of intuitive thinking via “meditation”.

Meditation does this: it shuts down the self-talk thinking mind and brings on a kind of silent intuitive self-streaming thinking kind of mind. You can either sit in this state of silent “being” and think intuitively or return to your noisy-self-talk thinking mind. Meditation can show how to open up and recognize this intuitive thinking mind that you talk about.

I am not sure where you “naturals” sit with this but I have described it here in another Quora article how the mind opens up to different types of thinking and “seeing” from a noisy mind of self-talk thinking to a silent intuitive stream thinking type of mind. I can shift from one to the other, because I “see” how it works, or remain longer in any one of them depending on how I want to use my mind or on what I am doing. Because one can split it open and see them differently and work in them separately, that does not mean that they don’t work together simultaneously in reality. In reality daydreaming I think is an aspect of intuitive thinking. There is also a kind of pictorial thinking with images that I think is carried by the intuitive wave.

You can easily distinguish between self-talk thinking and Intuitive thinking – In self-talk thinking one can spin an idea in the mind until the original observation is completely altered. I think Psychological thinking will also come into this category: play up an incident on the mind while cranking up the emotional side in you while you create a mountain out of a molehill. With intuitive thinking spinning an idea is not within its process. It seems that you only receive information with this type of thinking and “watch” everything fall into place. One is unable to alter the intuitive thought or spin it into something else and there seems to be only a sense of “being” and receiving.

Here I tried my best to show in words how the mind spaces open up during meditation or after shutting down one’s self-talk thinking mind to bring on silence in mind and the intuitive mind, so one can work exclusively with just intuition.

This below is more than just a meditation blog and do the “naturals” relate to this?

2 Brain Speaking Instead Of One

People can evolve from left brain thinking people to being both left and right brain thinking people (if we accept that this left and right brain is a myth, as science is saying, then we can separate them not by location but by type of thinking).

“left brain” thinking you need to self-talk to think and “right brain” is intuitive thinking – it is a kind of stream thinking. When you remove the noise of right-brain thinking from your brain – you bridge the left and right brains. It is as if the noise of thinking of this and that from the left brain type of thinking stops the right brain thinking from emerging or from being recognized by you. It never arises or gets recognized then we have no control over it.

This 2 types of thinking can be easily separated and used independently when required by just seeing that left brain thinking is symbiotically connected to self-talk which is an anomaly in us or in this type of thinking. It is the thinking of this and that which generates the “lie” or the illusion in you. “Right brain” thinking is an intuitive type of thinking that needs no effort on your part but just to accept the stream of thoughts as the Truth of things from the repository (wherever that is). Some say it is from God and others say it is a Cosmic repository – it contains all that is true and is the natural law of nature and hence unchanging and will always be true and a fact.

Use the right for everyday practical matters and the right brain for important decisions to be made – all thoughts from the right brain requires no thinking of this and that from your brain, like you do with the “left brain”. The right-brain thinking has a sense of intuitive stream-thinking with consciousness.

All the information above is experiential and hence needs to be collaborated. How I came to this was I realized that I was self-talking every thought of mine and if I did not self-talk what I was thinking, then I could not think. My mind became silent. This led to me realizing that I can silence my mind anytime I wanted. Then I discovered that in that silence there was still a kind of stream thinking process going on with no effort on my part. I then realized that possibly all that I was stream-thinking is true. There was possibly no this and that in the information I was getting.

I also realized that when the bridge is created and the mind opens up – there is a sort of evolution in the new mind space after the mind recognizes this new mind emerging and inhabits that silent space for longer periods. The silence in mind gets deeper and all pictorial thinking starts to disappear. It turns into being just nothing in mind. It starts up only when I need to use it.

You get this sense that everything is running on auto-consciousness – I then just sit back and just be. When I have a question to ask of my new mind space it is only with intuitive intention in mind without the self=talk. Self-talk thinking has got its place in mind and that is why it is there. It can be used for practical purposes but at times they do come together and they both seem to complement each other. I say seem, because like when an idea pops up randomly in my mind and then when I start to spin this idea into something else I realize I have to self talk. But that original manifestation pop up gets corrupted along the way in that spin and I feel a lie or an illusion has been created in my mind. Or I can just intuitively run the pop up in my right-mind and hence see the path of the Truth of that original pop-up. They both end in different places: one is the Truth in me and the other is a lie or an illusion in me. Both made by the same brain but by different minds in me and different types of thinking. It is when I take the lie and make it a false Truth is what I am watching all the time. It is when I know that this is a lie and that is possibly from the repository of the Truth of things then I am OK with that for now. If the 2-minds-speaking was not separated and observed I am not sure if I would have recognized that this is this and that is that.

Who has inspired you to connect with your purpose? How?

I had a relationship with the process of making Art and Art had a dialog with my mind. It showed me the limitations of my mind, that I cannot see past my past in me or what I already know. I struggled to find something new in me so I could manifest it as a work of Art and hence I would have discovered a workaround from my past. Then there were times my mind would stay completely still and i would get pop-ups that would show me the way forward. These pop-ups usually provided me with information that would transform my work so it begins to have something special in it. So where did these pop-ups come from – it was not from my thinking. So now I recognized, I had a working relationship with my mind. It is beginning to tell me how it works. Then there were times while wanting to find more for my work, and in complete silence and but with intention in mind i would disappear and return (while standing and contemplating my work) with no memory of where I had been. It did not happen very often but once was enough for one who is looking inwards. I knew there was a place my mind could go where it had no memory of where it had been. I have since discovered that when one becomes itself – that is when one enters the Absolute or becomes itself by being the Universal-Mind one is not able to see itself or experience one true self. Memory of it is not created because it is not an appearance anymore created by your senses – you have become IT, and It is something we cannot experience as both is one and the same thing.

Of course all this is a back and forth and experiential in nature and what others have experienced as well – you have to correlate as you progress and that is why they tell you that one cannot get there at the last stages without a guru.

2-mind-thinking: I think this was my best and perhaps even my last discovery that was important. Having gone from everyday thinking body-mind to silence-in-mind (I learnt to stop thinking anytime I wanted because of the discovery of speak-thinking – that is we have to always silently speak what we think for us to have to think at all, but this is a sidetrack and you can look it up if you want to know how to stop body-mind thinking instantly at anytime you want too. Good tool to have to get some peace-of-mind when you need it) and then into a different kind of thinking mode. It is not so much a body-mind kind of thinking of this and that BUT rather a kind of streaming of information. When the question is asked by mind, you only get the answers and you don’t need to think out the answer. You sit in a kind of state of “being” always is in THAT/IT/Universal-Mind and stream-thinking whenever you need too.

aRt was my Guru. ArT. TRa. A medium that allows you total freedom to explore your mind and its manifestations by having a serious close relationship with ART/IT.

Why do we need seek knowledge when we are already given wisdom?

You have to come to wisdom. It operates from another mind in you.

Thinking comes from different minds in you. Body-mind is as you understand it. It has many limitations. It is experiential in nature. It is knowledge based. It can create only off its experiences or off its past in you. Whatever it creates using the body-mind is a lie in you or an illusion. You take an observation from your 5 senses and spin a lie with it and you have a tendency to make the result a fact or true but you just made it up.

There are natural laws that keeps the planets in place. These are Truths outside and inside of you. You are part of the manifestation of those natural laws:

Everything in the Universal-mind/Absolute/Truth, is a fact, even though Elon Musk has a Tesla car in it heading towards Mars. Its repository contains only facts. Everything in it is True. You don’t need to think things out from the repository of the universal mind – They just download onto your mind and you just know the answers to your questions. No thinking as in the lower body-mind is needed. You just know when you stream through the Universal mind. But the shift has to be made from the body-mind to the Universal-mind. The shift won’t come without first cultivating silence in the body-mind. Then soon with practice you will notice a new mind emerging in you. One with body-mind and the other with Universal-Mind. The mind in its entirety is still silent and undisturbed. You have both minds working together, body-mind for your daily practical purposes where you have to silently speak what you are thinking to have to think at all (speak-thinking) or you shift and just download from the repository type of thinking through the Universal-Mind.

I gather that the Buddha once arriving at the stage of enlightenment told people (I gather) that he did not want to be called Buddha anymore but rather a Tathagata: This has many interpretations and one of them is “one who comes and goes”. I like to think it is one who comes and goes in these 2 different states of mind.

You choose:

which world you want to live in: or perhaps BOTH/Tathagata

The all knowing: “he who has attained that world” or still,

“living in this world”.

Body-mind, or

Cosmic-mind.

What do you think the future is going to be in terms of people: 2 minds speaking or still 1-mind-amoeba. Who do you think companies are going to hire in the future when they ask you are you 2 mind-speaking and you say – eh!.

Just try and locate that 2nd mind – Its fun trying to find it. Cost you nothing and creates a power-mind in you, and at the end you might even find some disco lights flashing that you might enjoy being in that space.

  1. ‘he who has attained that
  2. world, i.e. emancipation, ‘ applied to Jinas as
  3. opposed to other beings who are called ihagaya
  4. (idhagata), ‘living in this world.’
  5. According to Buddhaghosa the title tathagata is
  6. susceptible of eight interpretations:– http://ccbs.ntu.edu.tw/FULLTEXT/JR-ENG/bert.htm

Are you an all-knowing-no-thinking mind or a no-knowing-all-thinking mind?

I think there is a all knowing and a no-knowing side to us. All knowing is when the mind is not thinking as we know it and only accepting a kind of intuitive-streaming-all-knowing kind of information from the ether. The all knowing mind only starts to operate when the body-mind thinking process is shut down. No noise from the body-mind and the all-knowing mind tends to dominate.

Lets say if I decide to want to make a decision about staying in or going out for a meal. If I shut down my thinking and wait for a decision that is made for me by my all knowing mind that only knows the Truth – it might say stay in and enjoy the evening at home, might even provide you with a recipe for a home cooked meal – you did not think any of it with your body-mind, but all knowing intuitive mind told you what was best for you. It decides not only on what best for you but also of everything else that the all knowing mind knows about the next 6 hours and what is going to happen and decides for you.

So you accept that staying in is the best option. But the thinking body-mind which has been quiet all this time starts to rise up and looks at the repository of past experiences and decide that you might meet Amy again in the bar that you frequent and the meal there – i just like the way they cooked that meal the last time and what was that sauce they had in it and I could catch a movie too etc. The body-mind is using the past in you to decide an alternative. All it decided is made up, or an illusion created by the body-mind, or it is a lie in you.

Even though the all-knowing-no-thinking mind had decided that you should stay home that night, the all-thinking-no-knowing mind had stirred up your emotions and convinced you that you should go out, because the last time it was a good night out.

But for the bigger decisions one might make for oneself – there also seem to be a all-knowing-no-thinking mind at play and also an all-thinking-no-knowing mind in there somewhere operating in tandem where one mind is all knowing when the body-mind thinking is silent and the other just likes to creates a lie in you to convince one that the all-knowing mind is wrong and you should not listen to it.

So can we just shut down the all-thinking-no knowing-mind for the big decisions in life and just use it for practical purposes while using the all-knowing-no-thinking-streaming-mind for aspects of life where we just cannot afford to deal with the lies that the mind as we know it tend to make when we just get it thinking to change our minds when we already know the best answer to the question. So what is the truth in the lies in us – the Truth does not show itself when we use the all-thinking-no-knowing-body-mind as we know it.

2-minds-speaking to you are 2 states of minds that operate close together yet separately where one is all knowing with access to the Truth of things, while the other is just a puzzle of illusions or lie’s in you, created by the body-mind as you know it. One has access to the intangible Truth and the other does not. While both is necessary but it seems an advantage to know this is this and that is that and to use it accordingly.

One spins an illusion while the other is all-knowing.
